How Long does it Take to Learn piano?

Reaching an extremely high standard will take approximately 10 years if a child is dedicated and practises regularly. Some children start at a very young age and this gives them a love of music and something special they can do. The danger is that as they reach a standard starting age practice time is not stepped up and so they flounder as they are unable to maintain progress. Although it is fine for a child to do 5-10 minutes a day at 3 or 4 years of age, by 7 or 8 they should be doing 30 minutes a day, and late beginners need to practice for longer to make the rapid progress they need to get on top quickly.

Even Mozart had to do his 10,000 hours to become a child prodigy.
